Nana came to visit and helped care for Rachel. We had a lovely visit and we are thankful that Nana was able to help out. Meggan was able to attend her last course for trigger point dry needling and is now certified. This means I get to stop needling Jason as a practice patient almost every night! Woo-hoo!
Our house has a foundation and they will start framing it soon. The estimated move in date will be August 15th, if all goes well.
Meggan hiked up Bear Peak with Rachel in the backpack a couple of weeks ago, and enjoyed the beautiful views. I then called Jason, who was out running all the local peaks, and asked him to help me get her down because I was so tired from the hike up I wasn't sure I could do it safely. We had a nice family hike down, and good workouts in our own ways.
Jason ran the Quad Rock 50 mile trail race on Sat May 13th in Fort Collins. He did really well and finished the course, including 6 huge climbs, in 11 hours, 14 minutes. He had a smile on his face for the first 40 miles and still finished without any major issues. Rachel and I had a fun day watching and cheering. Rachel is an expert at saying 'Go Runner! Good Job! Yay Daddy!' and sometimes 'Where's Daddy?'

Rachel's latest triumphs include saying goodbye at daycare without crying, walking up and down stairs by herself, trying to sing ABCs, trying to count to 10 properly, knowing many of her colors, being able to hold 6 stuffed animals at once, putting money in her piggy bank, and expanding her vocabulary. She is a little quicker to cry and complain and is threatening to be a 2 year old temper-tantrum-thrower someday soon... but not so much yet. She has a few clothes she is excited to wear and these all seem to have animals (one big frog or monkey or elephant) on the front. Getting her to wear other clothes can be a bit of a trick. Her latest favorite things to say include:
"Bumblebee ... strawberries!" (from the 'I'm bringing home my baby bumblebee' song)
"See you soon Mamma!"
"Daddy pick it up"
"Bye bye dirty diapers"
"Mamma come later... school"
"No Mamma. No hair. No brush. No pony. No toothbrush."
- lots of discussion around using the potty but not actually using it

Bye for now!
