Bucket List Surprise

If you are a big MOJO fan, you might remember that Jason and I each have our own bucket lists.  Tonight, Jason got to check one off his list - totally spontaneously.

Despite Ava now having a fever and being quite sick, we decided to go out for dinner because it's been a crazy week and we're really behind in the food/household department.  So we opted to go try a popular Mexican restaurant in Old Town Lafayette (Efrain's).  It was busy, almost at capacity, and all the staff were running around crazy.

The food was great, the price was excellent, Rachel was happy, and the service all around was outstanding.  We ran into a few people we know, and all was good (except Ava).

Our waitress was incredible.  She was a middle-aged lady who was running around fast, but got us everything quickly and with a genuine smile on her face.  One of the best servers we've ever had.  Patient and friendly with the girls, our requests, our mess...

So... what did Jason get to do?

give an exhorbitant tip to someone who gives outstanding service for a small task

He wrote a note, explained that she had done an excellent job, and left a wad of cash.  We couldn't see her reaction, but we're hoping it made her really excited and motivated to keep smiling.

Now, Jason and I are cheap - no doubt about it.  We don't tip if someone doesn't earn the tip.  But this person really earned it, and we are very excited that we were able to do this tonight.
