Rachel's latest interests

Rachel is growing so fast!  She's quite happy these days: playing on her own quite well, running around, exploring and learning, and getting into everything!

Recent developments include:
- you can see 6 teeth in her mouth, so she smiles with teeth and looks older
- she loves to play with socks and shoes, and try wearing any socks/shoes she can find
wearing Daddy's slippers
- she can 'dance' to music a little and it's a joy to watch her boogie
(in this video, she dances but is also very distracted by shoes and socks)

- she loves undoing ziplocks and zipping zippers
- she can say 'baaa baa', 'mooooo', and 'neigh neigh' for farm animals

- she loves to get into the pantry to empty cereal boxes, bags of flour, or empty the shelves

Getting into the flour!!!

- she loves to 'hide' in small places, and play peek-a-boo when she reappears
- she loves to empty any shelf, drawer or cupboard, and can sometimes put the items back
- as much as she loves lift the flap books, she has started tearing books and flaps
This poor dog lost his head

- balls and boxes are really fun

It's also been VERY COLD here the last few days.  I might be Canadian, but on the coast I've never known cold like this.  Rachel seems to handle it better than I do.  Thankfully, we've been enjoying snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and downhill skiing.

  1. My little bookworm decapitated the same poor dog in our book! (Dry dog, wet dog, shake shake shake!) After that, he removed the leg from the dog who demonstrates that all dogs pee...

We've never met, but I was a friend of Jason's from NC State. I love reading your blog and seeing the way that you've incorporated a wee one into your active lifestyle. Wishing you all the best as you survive a Colorado winter! (Hey - at least the cold comes with sunshine.)
