Cold snap

We've had cabin fever here with this darn cold weather.  It's weird to have snow but not really be able to get out and play in it because it's too cold.

We've set out our Christmas tree, made a small snowman or two, and thrown a few snowballs.  We've gone to the butterfly pavillion, the zoo, the library, the pool, the children's museum, the indoor play time at the church, and a different pool.  I might even go to the mall next.

We went to the Christmas parade last night with our dear friend Sarah that stopped in.

Today, we were determined to find a small hill for sledding as the sun came out and warmed up to a whopping 20F.  Ava and I stayed in the car while Rachel donned her skis and skied down a 15 foot face.  Jason then picked her up, carried her to the top, and down she went again.  Repeat 40 times, every time Rachel saying "Again!".

We know almost everyone across the country has been having some version of cold weather.  I am thankful for our warm home, flannel sheet, fleece shirts, tea, soup, and crock pots.  I'm glad I don't live in Calgary or Saskatchewan, where it's much colder.

I think tomorrow it's going to warm up.  We hope to get to the high country next weekend and play in the white stuff properly.  Let's cross our fingers!
