Ability Camping Trip

On July 24/25 2015, we went camping for 2 nights.  The first night was just our family of 4, and on Saturday my (Meggan's) work crew joined us for a camping retreat.

Friday afternoon we left and tried to find a large 'dispersed camping' spot.  These are first come, first serve, free sites with no facilities.  A colleague had told us where to look, but we were skeptical that we would find anything on a summer weekend.

Before long, though, we scooped up a terrific site, and one of the last available.  There was loads of room, but just required a little 4WD creek crossing to enter.

We slept pretty well in our awesome huge tent (purchased March 2015 and used only once so far this year - at Jason's Jemez 50 miler race in May).

Sat morning our family hiked to Rainbow Lakes, which required lots of motivation to keep all 4 of us going.

Sat afternoon and evening we had a great time hanging out near the campsite as the work team made there way in.

Sunday morning, some of the team left but others arrived and joined in for a 3 mile loop hike in the woods with adults, kids and dogs.

I love my work team and we had a great time!  Thanks.
